BOSTON, Mass - It was Women's Volleyball Senior Rec as the Lions hosted the visiting Clark University Cougars. Clark would come back to win the match after Emerson took the first set. This closes the season for the Lions who are now 12-13 overall, and 2-8 in the NEWMAC. Clark rises to 20-7 overall and 8-2 in conference play.

The Lions recognized two graduating seniors, Kat Westbrook and Giuli Frendak. Clark is graduating a solo senior, Shannon Glass-Smythe.

In the first set Clark jumped out to a 3-1 lead, before Lions Senior Giuli Frendak got a chance to serve and went on a 7 point run to snag Emerson the lead, 9-3. The Cougars were able to close the gap, but the lead proved too much to overcome as the set ended 25-22 in the Lions favor.

In the second and third set Clark came out swinging and closed them out 25-16 and 25-17 respectively thanks to efforts from Shannon Glass-Smythe and Marina Ramos.

In the fourth and final set, the Lions kept it competitive and were staying a comeback, but a final kill by Clark's Ana Mercado ended the set with a score of 25-22.

Stat leaders for the Lions include Jules Augustine with 14 kills, 1 solo block, and 4 block assists. Sam Harton had 27 digs, followed closely by Frendak with 17 digs, 6 kills, and 2 service aces. Westbrook lead the team in aces with 4 and Elaine Nichols rounded out the squad with 31 set assists.

Leading for Clark was Ramos with 22 kills, 23 digs, 4 aces, and a solo block. Rachel Webb had an impressive 49 assists. Mia Cattaneo had a 23 digs and a single ace.

This concludes the season for the Emerson Lions, as they wish their seniors good luck in their future endeavors.
