In a hard loss to the WPI Engineers, the Lions fall to 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the NEWMAC.
Emerson men came out strong in the first half trading baskets with the Engineers keeping it competitive with the score standing (11-15) thanks to a jump shot by Ryan Clinesmith with about 12 minutes left in the half . But then the Lions went on a scoring drought for over 5 minutes save a free throw by Brian Hurley, while WPI increased their lead (12-32). Jay Kleinbart broke the drought scoring 4 points, while Tyson Hallowell put up 5 to close the half, (21-41).
Sadly in the second half the Lions were unable to make any ground, despite efforts from lead scorers Michael Thorpe, Hurley, and Clinesmith. Scoring 37 points in the second half, Emerson closed the game 58-73.
