In an epic contest that was up for grabs until the final seconds, the Emerson Lady Lions defeated the MIT Engineers, Final Score 67-62.

MIT opened the game with a basket from Maya Ramachandran, but Janissa Delzo for the Lions quickly tied it up. The Engineers took the lead after a jump shot and free throw by Maria Kordell, but a 3 pointer from Emily Cameron tied the game up yet again.

Emerson took the lead early in the first half with a jump shot from Catherine Cloutier and held it for the rest of the contest. It was a tight game with the largest lead only growing to 10 points, but 14 total points by lead scorer Sierra Ducey helped secure the Lady Lion's victory.

MIT didn't go down with a fight though. Late in the second half they closed the gap to just 2 points. Sabrina Drammis helped keep MIT alive with an impressive 22 total rebounds. With only 2 minutes left, Cloutier and Ducey both scored giving the Lions some breathing room, allowing them win the game. Emerson rises to 8-6 overall and 3-3 in the NEWMAC.
