In a thrilling matchup that was aggressive until the final seconds of the game, senior Eli Kell-Abrams put up an impressive 23 points against the Clark University Cougars. Final Score 57-46.
Clark opened the game with Nick Daprato sinking a jumper, but Emerson's Austin Pinckney quickly tied the game at 2-2 with an assist from Ryan Clinesmith. The Lions continued to increase their lead for the next five minutes before a free throw by Clark's Evan Lerner brought the score to 10-3. A few minutes later Kell-Abrams put in 3 straight three throws off a foul by Tyler Huffman of Clark.
Both teams continued to trade fouls and shots with Emerson leading at the half (25-15). Clark came within striking distance of the Lions in the second half, closing the gap to just 7 points, but ultimately were unable to take the lead.
Defensive accolades go to Pinckney with 12 total rebounds, Clinesmith with 7, and Brian Hurley with 6.
