BOSTON, Mass. – Two players dropping a double-double wasn't enough Saturday afternoon as the Emerson Women's Basketball Team fell in a 68-66 heartbreaker to the College of Staten Island Dolphins. With the loss the Lions are now 3-1 on the year while CSI moves to 3-1.

 After the tip-off, the Dolphins surged out to the lead, led by Alyssa Carlsen's 12 points and eight boards in the half. Kristin Brice led the attack for the Lions with 10 points and seven rebounds to keep EC in the hunt while Janissa Delzo and Catherine Cloutier both put in nine and eight points respectively. The difference was made in the paint though as CSI poured in 24 points to head into the break up 38-32.

The second half saw both teams play a more even-keeled match-up with both squads spreading the offense more. CSI's Lisa Galasso leading the floor with nine points. Kristin Brice and Catherine Cloutier put in work for the Lions, polishing off another double-double showcase. While the Lions put up a better second half with more points from turnovers and second chances than the Dolphins, but in the end the first half deficit was too much to surpass as the Lions fell 68-66.

Next up the Lions will set to host NEWMAC foe Wellesley this Tuesday before the break. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. in Boston at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym.
