Offense In Sync As Men's Basketball Tops Tufts 78-71

BOSTON, Mass. – Four Lions put up double digit points on the night with Jon Goldberg's 17 leading the floor as the Emerson Men's Basketball Team topped the Tufts Jumbos 78-71 Friday night. With the win the Lions improve to 3-1 on the year while the Jumbos drop to 3-1.

The first half saw the Lions surge ahead, shooting 36% as a team from the floor. Jon Goldberg led EC with 11 points and six boards. Following his lead were Michael Thorpe with nine points and Tyson Hallowell with eight as well. The Lions were stellar in the paint as well with 16 points as they rolled into the half up 37-25.

The second half saw Goldberg lead the way again with 11 points in the half as Emerson tore it up in the paint again with 22 points in the paint this time around. The Lions started firing on all cylinders where they shot 54% as a team to outshoot Tufts and roll off with the 78-71 win.

The Lions will continue their season on Tuesday night as they head to Lesley for an 8 p.m. match-up against the Lynx.
