Brice Dominant Again As Women's Basketball Opens NEWMAC Slate with 74-69 Win Over MIT

Box Score

BOSTON, Mass. – A double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds for Kristin Brice played key Wednesday night as the Emerson Women's Basketball kicked open their inaugural NEWMAC season with a 74-69 win over MIT. With the win the Lions remain undefeated at 3-0, 1-0 in the NEWMAC as MIT drops to 1-2 overall and 0- in conference play.

The first half saw Brice tear it up with 19 points to lead the floor. Sabrina Drammis scrapped behind her with 14 of her own to keep MIT in the hunt. Rebounding easily spelled the change in the game though as EC put up 20 boards to MIT's 11 as they rolled into the half up 42-40.

The second half saw the Lion defense step up more to cause nine turnovers while Kristin Brice also put up two blocks in the half along with her 10 points. Sienna O'Han also joined in helping the nine points of her own. Free throws spelled the tale though as EC went 72% from the line to edge out the Engineers 74-69.

The Lions remain home for their next game where they'll face the College of Staten Island on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Emerson's BrownPlofker Gym.
