Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – With Juliana Tucker putting up 32 assists to set up Kat Rice and Kat Westbrook for a combined 22 kills on the night, the Emerson Women's Volleyball Team rolled to a sweep of the Lesley Lynx Wednesday night at EC's Brown-Plofker Gym. The Lions won 25-11, 25-18 and 25-12 to improve their record to 2-1 on the year as Lesley falls to 1-2.
The first set saw the Lions come out to dominate the net as Kat Rice swung a nasty .750 in the set for six kills to lead the Lions while Alex Lynn served up three aces in the set as the defense held the Lynx to a -.087 attack percentage. Juliana Tucker seemed in control from the start with 10 assists in the first set alone which saw EC take a 25-11 win.
Set two saw some more fight out of the Lynx as they capitalized on some early Lion miscues and errors, but again serving came in key with two aces from Brandy Eggermann while Kat Rice did work again for five more kills as EC edged Lesley again 25-18.
Three was all it was going to be as the Lions again took the reigns as they battled off three lead changes and three tie scores with Alyssa Thorne stepping in for some offense flooring six kills. Juliana Tucker again hit double digits setting for a .556 set percentage as EC again held the Lynx to a negative attack percentage with a 25-12 final for the sweep.
The Lions will travel this weekend to Western New England University for a tournament against Western New England, Westfield State and Western Connecticut. Matches start Friday night in Springfield.
