BOSTON, Mass. – The Emerson Women's Volleyball Team came out blazing on all cylinders Thursday night as they swept the visiting Roger Williams Hawks. The 25-22, 25-14, 25-22 win gives EC their sixth sweep while moving them to 9-7 overall. The Hawks with the loss drop to 8-6 on the year.

In the first set, the Hawks just couldn't figure out the Kat Rice as she hit the boards with five kills for a .500 attack percentage. Rice also did work on defense as well with two solo blocks to keep the Hawks at bay with a mere .057 attack percentage.  Jamie Morgan kept the Lions in each point as well with her 10 digs in the set alone as EC took a 25-22 win.

Set two was all Emerson as they absolutely dominated the Hawks with Kat Rice again just crushing the ball, hitting .714 in the set with five kills again. Alyssa Thorne also stepped up to do work on offense with four kills of her own. Juliana Tucker was lights out as well, quarterbacking the team with 11 assists in the set leading EC to a .241 attack percentage and 25-14 win.

The Hawks started to battle back in the third though as they scrapped to a .157 average as a team and nipped at the Lions heels throughout. This set the offense was spread throughout though with five different Lions flooring more than two kills each. Giuli Frendak and Alyssa Thorne paved the way with four apiece while Juliana Tucker took care of offense and defense with six digs and 13 assists en route to a sweep of the Hawks.

Next up the Lions will travel to Wellesley for a tri-match against Eastern Nazerene and Wellesley at 1 and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
