First up, the Lions took on the hosts in the Colby Sawyer Chargers which saw the Lions come out strong in the first set for a 25-20 win as Kat Rice floored four while swinging .600. The lead didn't last long though as CSC stormed back in the second with a 25-16 win as the Chargers put up three blocks to quite EC. The Lions didn't help themselves either as they saw 17 unforced errors take them out of the set.

The Chargers repeated the 25-16 win in set three, this time with both teams swinging better as Alyssa Thorne tore it up for six kills and a .500 average. In the end CSC put up a .333 team average as they spread the offense with Emilee McBride doing the Lions' share with seven kills.

Four was all CSC needed as EC stormed back in the fourth set forcing six tie scores and a lead change in the set. Alyssa Thorne was the leader again for EC with four kills while Jamie Morgan kept them in it with eight digs. In the end, EC couldn't hold off Colby-Sawyer's offense while seeing the Chargers put up three blocks to finish the 25-19 final.

Up next, the Lions took on the Southern Vermont Mountaineers that saw EC rally up a bit more to put up a feisty fight to SVC. Set one was a grit match that saw eight tie scores and six lead changes while Alex Lynn floored three for a .429 average. SVC's errors kept EC in it, but in the end the Mountaineer defense was able to shut down the Lions to take a 25-22 win.

The Lions flipped the script in the next set with their own 25-22 win to even it up as Alyssa Thorne added four kills to the score while Alex Lynn hit .750 in the set while also adding a block assist as the Lions never relinquished the lead from the start.

It was another 25-22 match in set three, this time with the teams knotting it up five times. The Lions could never take the lead though as SVC's Jessica Alvarez played the difference maker with six kills in the set to give the Mountaineers the 2-1 advantage.

Four proved to be an unlucky number on the day for the Lions as they rallied hard with six tie scores and three lead changes. In the end though Jessica Alvarez couldn't be stopped while the Mountaineer defense stepped up for four kills for a 25-17 final.

The Lions return to GNAC action this Saturday as they travel to Simmons for a match against the Sharks at noon in Boston.
