Box Score BOSTON, Mass. – Jamie Morgan's 28 digs on the night were the highlight for the Emerson Women's Volleyball Team who fell 3-1 to Babson College Thursday night. The Beavers took the win 25-14, 16-25, 25-16 and 25-15 to move 6-2 on the year while Emerson drops to 4-4 overall.
Set one saw the Lions come out off-kilt as EC couldn't contain Mary Donahue who collected six kills for a .500 average. Alyssa Thorne scrapped in with three kills of her own, but the Beavers took set one 25-14.
Emerson fired back in the second set though as they jumped out to an early lead even with the Babson defense stepping up for three blocks in the set. Kat Rice and Guili Frendak led the Lions in the set with two kills apiece as EC roared off with a 25-16 win.
The Beavers weren't to be silenced though as Christina Cervini swung a nasty .600 for four kills as Katheen Lynch tossed up 10 assists en route to a 25-16 BC win.
Four was the number on the night though as Babson's Mary Donahue tore the roof off in the fourth set, collecting eight kills. The Lions couldn't get on the same page though as 13 unforced errors cost EC the set and match, falling 25-15.
The Lions will return to their home court this Saturday for Alumni Weekend as they set to host Mount Ida in GNAC action at 11 a.m. in Boston at Brown-Plofker Gym.
