ATTLEBOROUGH, Mass. (September 5, 2026) – First year Aidan Waner paced the Emerson College men's cross country team in his collegiate debut as the Lions opened their season at the Suffolk University Short Course Classic at Mark Coogan Cross Country Course at Highland Park today.
Waner completed the five-kilometer course in 18:10.6 to finish 99th overall in the field of 207 entries among 20 programs that competed in the meet. The Lions placed 17th as a team overall with NCAA Division I University of New Hampshire taking the team title with 21 points after placing four runners in the top five and six in the top ten. Babson College junior Nick Yacoub was the only non-UNH runner in the top five, taking the individual title by completing the course in 15:30.4.

Emerson returns to action in two weeks, when it competes at the Pop Crowell Invitational, hosted by Gordon College, on Saturday, September 19, in Wenham, Massachusetts.
