NEWPORT, R.I. (March 28, 2026) – Salve Regina University swept doubles play and then won four of six singles matches to collect a 5-2 victory over Emerson College in a New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women's tennis match at the International Tennis Hall of Fame on Saturday night.

How It Happened
- Salve swept the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the match as Murphy and Reig provided the point clinching win for the Seahawks with their 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles against Briones and sophomore Abigail Miner after Hjerpe and junior Kaydin Pinto won at No. 1 doubles.
- Briones knotted the match by posting the first singles decision with her 6-3, 6-0 victory against Salve junior Stephanie Davis at No. 2 singles.
- Hjerpe pushed Salve back in front by posting a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles against Miner.
- Murphy pulled Salve within a point of the match win by finishing a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over sophomore Alisa Pimenova.
- Padro followed with the match clinching point after recording a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 5 singles against first year Anna Matsuura.
- Rieg added her second win of the afternoon by rallying from a set down to defeat senior Jayden Beverly at No. 6 singles.
- Login capped the match by notching Emerson's second point with a tight 7-6, 6-4 triumph at No. 1 singles against Pinto.
