The Lead: A Wesleyan (Conn.) own goal and a tally from freshman Alexa Ingersoll (Oakland, Calif.) kept the Emerson women's soccer team in the game, but the host No. 21 Cardinals prevailed as the Lions fell, 3-2, in non conference play on Tuesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED 

47": Emerson broke a scoreless draw thanks to a Wesleyan own goal and allowed the Lions to take the early 1-0 lead. 

60": Wesleyan answered 59:63 expired when Devanny one timed a corner by Wiley and buried th header into the top righthand corner to square the game at 1-1. 

67": Devanny's second goal of the game pushed Wesleyan (Conn.) in front, 2-1, after she beat Rose on a breakaway on the right and buried the ball into the bottom left side. 

69": It did not take long for Emerson to answer in similar fashion when Ingersoll forced Hammond off her line before she beat the keeper to knot the game 2-all. 

84": Lavey sent in the game-winner when she rifled a shot from 18 yards out for the 3-2 advantage.
