Emerson got themselves onto the board before Pine Manor took a shot and took the 1-0 lead seven minutes into the first. Wierbicky sent the ball from the middle to an open sophomore Jess Frost (Palos Verdes, Calif.) on the inside left post and deposited the first Emerson goal into the right side past Pine Manor goalie Charley Lutz (38:35). With 11 minutes on the clock, Emerson tacked on its third goal of the half. Frost carried the ball towards the middle with a Gators defender on her tail and passed it up to Bernardi. Bernardi had several defenders covering her, but warded them off and sent the ball past the reach of Lutz. (11:08).
A strong showing from the Emerson defense slowed down Pine Manor and did not allow the Gators to register a shot through the first 45 minutes and outshot them, 14-0. Not much got better for Pine Manor as Emerson tacked on five more goals in the second half.
The Lions began to distance themselves away from the Gators and tallied its fourth goal a mere five minutes into the start of the second half. Freshman Cassie Cavender (Clarksville, Tenn.) tallied the first shot for the Gators in the 69th minute of the second half, but it was quickly stopped by Emerson freshman goalie Hannah Hodge (Gainesvilla, Ga.). The Lions gained the 6-0 lead with 11 minutes on the clock (11:06) as Levin crossed a pass from inside the left post to Wierbicky in front of then net. Lord and Bernardi tallied two more goals within the sixth and fourth minutes to give the Lions a lengthy 8-0 cushion.
