The Lead: Neely Eddleston (West Wareham, Mass.) entered the game in relief for the Lions, earning the victory in 5.2 innings pitched behind Lexi Semanchik's (Flemington, N.J.) two RBIs to give the Lions the 5-4 victory. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Neely Eddleston earned the win pitching 5.2 innings in relief, scattering four hits and striking out four batters.
  • Lexi Semanchik led all Lions with two RBIs.  Grace Boehler had two RBIs for the Rams.
  • Suffolk out hit the Lions 7-6 and left more runners on base at 8-6.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Suffolk opened the scoring on a single by Flint to open up the scoring in the top of the first.
  • The Lions answered, grabbing four runs in the bottom of the frame, starting with a Semanchik ground out that brought home Shofi.  
  • Semanchik was followed by Loe who doubled, bringing home Leonardos.  After Pratt reached on an error to bring home Lowe, Dix singled to second base to drive home Pratt and give Emerson the 4-1 lead.
  • In the top of the second, McKenzie McGrath came around on a wild pitch.  Grace Boehler singled to bring home Tiley Mulligcan and Hannah Cockroft to bring the score to 4-4.
  • In the bottom half of the frame, Semanchik hit a sacrifice fly to center field, bringing home Marisa DeFranco, and giving Emerson the 5-4 lead.
  • Neither team scored after the second inning, giving Emerson the victory in seven innings.

UP NEXT

  • The Lions get back in action on Wednesday, traveling to play the second leg of a doubleheader that was rained tut against Wellesley, starting at 4:30pm.
