The Emerson Men's & Women's Cross Country Teams closed out their season in the New England Regionals hosted by Bowdoin College on Saturday. The 6K Race for the Women and 8K race for the Men took place in Brunswick Maine. Emerson's Women finished 43rd of 54 schools and the Mean came in 45th of 54 schools.
The Women's Team was packed by Junior Taylor Ranney (Ridgefield, Conn.). Ranney placed 201 and finished with a time of 25:09.5. Madison Lynch (Dartmouth, Mass.) came in just 16 seconds behind Ranney, finished at 25:25:.1 and 212th place. Emily Hammond (Bridgewater, Mass.) and Paige Thimmesch (Sterling, Va.) came in close together, with Hammond finishing at 26:19.6 and Thimmesch finishing at 26:24.2. Hammond finished 254th and Thimmesch finished 257th. Jenny Ferm (Raymond, N.H.) finished 299 with a time of 27:51.3. Jocelyn Yang (Beijing, China.) and Alexia Brown (Harrisburg, Penn.) finished out the race for the Lions with Yang Coming in at 340 and Brown coming in at 350. Yang finished with a 31:10.1 while Brown had a 32:52.8.
The top runner from the men's side was Freshman Oliver Glass, who finished 186th and came in with a 28:10.0 time in the 8k race. Joey MacNeil (Tewksbury, Mass.) was the second runner for the Lions, coming in at 250th overall and a 29:16.6 time. Kevin Serrano (Raymond, N.H.) placed 270th with a 29:40.4 time. Phillipe Legagneur (Waltham, Mass.) came in 309th with a 30:47.3 time. Devin McAlister, Sam Persall, and Anthony LaBruto closed out the runners for the Lions, placing 353rd, 359th, and 361st respectively. McAlister ran a 34:41.7, Persall ran a 36:07.4 and LaBruto ran a 36:12.3.
