Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Perform Well At Suffolk Invite

The Emerson Men's & Women's Cross Country team took part in the Suffolk Invite on Saturday, with the Men's team placing 16th in the 8K race and the Women's Team placing 13th in the 5K race.

The Men were paced by Freshman Oliver Glass, who finished 34th overall with a time of 28:04.4. The Lions had a pack of three runners who came in after glass, all within 17 seconds of eachother.  Joseph MacNeil finished second for the Lions' and 95th overall, with a time of 30:!7.4.  Phillipe Legagneur was close behind MacNeil with a 30:24.4 time and a 93rd place finish.  Kevin Serrano closed out the pack with a 95th place finish and a 30:33.7 time.  Devin McAlister and Anthony LaBruto closed out the finishers for the Lions with McAlister coming in 139th at 34:26.8 and LaBruto coming in 143rd with a 35:34.9 finsih.

For the women, Taylor Ranney paced all runners with a 37th place finish and a 21:15.0 time.  Emily Hammond and Madison Lynch finished back to back at 54th and 55th respecticely.  Hammond came in at 21:45.2 and Lynch came in at 21:46.4.  Emily Moughan came in close behind the pair of runners at 83rd and a 23:05.5 finish.  Paige Thimmesch was right behind her in 89th with a 23:23.8 finish.  Jenny Ferm and Jocelyn Yang finished out the runners with Ferm coming in 91st at 23:28.6.  Yang finished in 108th with a 25:21.6.

Both teams will get back in action on November 3rd when they take part in the NEWMAC Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
