The Emerson College Men's Tennis Team fell to the Franklin Pierce University Ravens on Sunday morning, and will now turn their sights to NEWMAC play in the coming weeks.
Emerson opened up the match with Dan Okin and Bass Lin taking on Roberto Chong and Nkrumah Patrick in the top doubles pairing. The match went to a tiebreak, with both pairs knotted at 7 after 14 sets. Chong and Patrick defeated Okin and Lin in the tiebreaker 7-4 to take the set 8-7. Maximo Lawlor and Jeff Pratt fell in their doubles match 8-2 while Surya Sundararajan and Brock Higley fell 8-0 in their doubles match. Franklin Pierce took a 3-0 lead into the singles matches.
After winning the first set in the top doubles, Lin fell to Chong in the final two. Lawlor, Okin, Higley, Pratt, and Sundararajan all fell in their singles matches, giving Franklin Pierce the victory over the Lions, 9-0.
Emerson is back in action on April 3, when they travel to take on Clark University in their first NEWMAC matchup of 2019.
