Men's Tennis Gets Back On Track Against UMASS-Boston

The Emerson Men's Tennis team earned a victory on Saturday, downing the Beacons of UMASS Boston.  Emerson started the match by taking the top two doubles points.  Bass Lin (Shanghai, China) and Dan Okin (Amangansett, N.Y.) defeated Nandish Shah and Alexander Comerchero 8-4.  Maximo Lawlor (Litchfield Park, Ariz.) and Jeff Pratt won the second doubles point against Miguel Beltran and Onkgoposte Mokoka 8-6.

In the singles matchups, Lin defeated Shah 6-2, 6-3.  Lawlor won the second flight over Beltran 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. Okin continued Emerson's strong start, defeating Comerchero 7-5, 6-1.  Brock Higley (Bedford, N.H.) won his singles matchup in three sets over Ray Platteel, 6-3, 4-6, 7-5. For Emerson's final victory of the day, Pratt defeated Leandro Mang 6-3, 6-1.

Emerson continues to play well, with a 7-3 record heading towards conference play.  The Lions will play on Friday, March 22nd at Suffolk, with a match starting at 5:00pm.
