The Lead: Freshman Luc Fougere (Chicago, Ill.) scored the lone goal in the 47th minute, which proved to be enough for the Emerson men's soccer team to seal the 1-0 victory for its first win of 2019 over Salem State on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
47": The score remained in a scoreless tie up until the 47th minute mark when Fougere capitalized on a free kick opportunity and laced the shot right over the top of the defense that was misplayed right into the goal.
61": Paa Sowe neared evened the score at 1-1 only to have his laser of a shot from 20 yards out bounce off the cross bar and back into the field to keep Emerson's lead in tact.
- Salem State gained one more scoring chance later in the half when a diving Kemp snatched the shot as the Lions held on for the 1-0 win.
- Emerson travels down to Trinity (Conn.) on Wednesday, September 4 for an 8:00 p.m. matchup.
