PAXTON, Mass. – The Emerson Women's Tennis Team put up another stellar outing Monday afternoon as they dominated the Anna Maria AMCATS 8-1. With the win, the Lions move to 7-3 overall and 6-2 in GNAC action while Anna Maria falls to 3-7 on the year and 3-3 in conference action.
Rolling into double play, the Lions came out swinging as they allowed the AMCATS only one set point throughout as Lacey Russell and Savannah Mosser moved to 10-0 on the year with another 8-0 win. Alanna Grady and Jana Winfield matched the sweep with an 8-0 win over Cassey Harrington and Kelly Blake in the three spot.
Up 3-0 coming out of doubles, the Lions continued to dominate as Alanna Grady, Minh Pham and Emi Soda all collected perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins in the four, five and six spots to clinch the match. EC wasn't finished though as Savannah Mosser pushed her singles streak to 18 straight wins, topping Victoria Minotti 6-1, 6-1 in the one spot.
Closing out the match was Natalie Nicholas topped Nicole Goudreau in the three spot 6-3, 6-0 as the Lions took an 8-1 win.
Next up, the Lions will host Rhode Island College this Wednesday, October 10 at Victory Field in Watertown, Mass. at 4 p.m.
