Brice Throws Down A Double-Double As Women's Basketball Tops Wentworth

BOSTON, Mass. – Kristin Brice threw down a dominating 30 points and 16 rebounds on the day as the Emerson Women's Basketball Team collected a 64-54 over Wentworth to open their 2013-2014 season. With the win the Lions are now 1-0 overall while Wentworth drops to 0-1.

The first half saw the Lions take control early on with Brice dominating the floor with 13 points and seven rebounds as the Lions pulled down 24 boards to WIT's 17 in the game. The bench came out to scrap for Emerson as well as they dropped seven points for EC as the Lions took a 31-26 lead into the break.

The second half saw the Leopards scrap a bit more with Emerson, but Kristin Brice again wasn't to be denied as she put up 17 points and nine boards. Catherine Cloutier stepped up for EC as well with five points, five boards and two assists in the half. WIT's Rachael Camara tried to help the cause for the Leopards with 13 points but in the end Emerson closed it out 64-54.

The win places the Lions in the Championship Game for the Tip-Off Tournament where they'll face Elmira. Game time is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday in Boston at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym.
