Softball's Offense Fires Up In Split With Susquehanna And Coe

CLAREMONT, Fla. - The Emerson College softball team recorded their first win of the season with a 13-7 decision over Susquehanna University.

The Lions offense exploded in the second inning, trailing 3-1. With two outs and the bases loaded Brittany Rochford, smashed a triple to left to drive in all 3 runs. Shannon Torosian added another run with an RBI single while Nikki Delany drove in 2 more to take the 7-3 lead. Delaney also added a solo home run to left in the 4th inning.

Alicia Daniele threw 7 strong innings for the Lions surrendering 7 runs on 12 hits en route to the victory.

Emerson also dropped an 8-0 decision to Coe on Tuesday.

Lions pitcher, Lauren Jacaruso, held Coe to 3 runs through 4 innings before the Kohawks offense began to click. Courtney Fee recorded Emerson's only hit, a double to left in the fourth inning.

The Lions are back to work on Thursday as they take on Thiel College and Finlandia.
