Men's Volleyball Sweeps Newbury, 3-0

Emerson Men's volleyball was victorious in their March 26th match against Newbury college, winning in 3-0 sets. This win puts Emerson's record at 11-8 overall and 3-5 in the GNAC, while Newbury now stands 8-12 overall.

Emerson and Newbury stayed neck and neck in kills during the first set; each team with 10. Newbury got a few more errors during the set getting 7 to Emerson's 4. The final score of the first set was 25-17, Emerson.

The Lion's played a tighter second set raising their kills to 12 and only committing 2 errors. Newbury's kills dropped to 7 and their errors only raised up to by 1. The teams went back and forth evenly throughout the set, neither team getting more than 3 points in a row. The set ended with a score of 25-15, Emerson.

Emerson continued to improve in the third set raising their kills up to 15 and having only a single error. Newbury improved during this set as well, bringing their kills up to 12 and their errors down to 3.

Newbury College's Wade Robidoux led the match in kills with 11 overall. Emerson freshman Nick Rusk followed close behind with 9 kills overall.

Stepping up from the Lion's bench were Austin Pinckney, with a huge solo block and 2 kills, as well as freshman Andy Kim wtih 2 kills; both helping close out the third set.

The Lion's next matchup will be a tri-match on March 28th at Wentworth. Emerson will be playing Wentworth at 11:00am and Johnson and Wales at 3:00pm.
