Men's Volleyball Posts Third Straight Sweep With Win Over Albertus Magnus

BOSTON, Mass. – Alex Frapech's 16 kills lit up the day as the Emerson Men's Volleyball Team swept away the Albertus Magnus Falcons 25-18, 25-17 and 25-22. With the win the Lions are now 8-9 on the year and 4-2 in GNAC play while Albertus Magnus falls to 7-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.

Set one saw Connor Burton take control as he rolled out a .750 average for three kills while Frapech joined in with four kills and a solo block. AMC's Glenn Johnson led the floor with four kills, but the Falcons' nine attack errors gave the Lions the leeway they needed for a 25-18 win.

Alex Frapech tore up set two, swinging a nasty .500 for eight kills to lead the floor. AMC's Johnson again lead for the Falcons with six kills, but this time around EC's defense was stellar as they posted four team blocks to snake off with a 25-17 win.

Set three was a closer one that showcased 10 tie scores and four lead changes as both teams battled it out with both Glenn Johnson and Chase Brinton putting down four kills for the Falcons. Frapech matched them as the Falcons pushed to take a set from EC, only to find that serving would be their Achilles heel in the set, as their six serve errors cost them a 25-22 set.

The Lions will take a brief break next week before hosting Newbury on March 15. Match time is set for 7 p.m. in Boston at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym.
