Men's Soccer Unable To Keep Pace With Lasell In Loss

BOSTON, Mass. – With the Lasell Lasers outshooting the Emerson Men's Soccer Team 20-to-11 on the night, the Lions were just unable to keep pace, falling 5-1. With the loss Emerson is now 3-7 on the year and 1-4 in the GNAC as Lasell improves to 9-1 overall and a perfect 5-0 in conference action.

The Lasers wasted no time on the night as they jumped onto the scoreboard within the first two minutes as a great pass to Cedric Dybaud was easily tipped over a diving Emerson GK to make it 1-0.

Lasell wasn't done yet though as they did the majority of their damage in the first half with Mike Skelton collecting a beautiful pass from Conor Fitzgerald to split the defense for a breakaway goal. LC had one more to add in the half with Kyle Cronin collecting a cross for a deposit into the left corner to head into the break up 3-0.

Coming out with renewed vigor, the Lions held the lightning-quick Laser offense at bay through the majority of the half while putting up their own offense as Ole Erikson was deflected right to Alex Pappas' feet where an off-kilt Lasell GK couldn't reach to make it 3-1.

That was all the Lasers would allow though as they rallied up at the end of the match for two more goals on the Lions who couldn't hold off the offensive assault any longer as the match pulled to a close with a 5-1 Lasell win.

The Lions will take to the pitch again this Saturday as they set to travel to Emmanuel to face the Saints at 1 p.m. in Boston.
