Men's Basketball Overpowered By Albertus Magnus

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – A dominant showcase by the Albertus Magnus Men's Basketball Team who saw four players put up double-digits in points were too much to handle Saturday afternoon as the Emerson Men's Basketball Team fell 91-67. With the loss the Lions are now 8-8 overall and 6-3 in conference play as the Falcons improve to 15-1 on the year and a perfect 10-0 in the GNAC.

The first half saw the Falcons shoot a lethal 50% from the floor and 55% from beyond the arc, going 6-for-11 in threes in the half. AMC's Darius Watson put up 13 points, shooting 50% in field goals which was matched by Emerson's Mike Carbone who came off the bench for 13 of his own who shot 4-for-5.

Turnovers were costly again for the Lions though as Albertus turned 15 Emerson turnovers into 17 points to give them the edge. The bench held the Lions in it again though as they dropped 21 of EC's 35 points in the half as the Falcons took a 52-35 lead into the break.

The second half saw the Emerson bench carry the load again this time with 22 points as Jacob Forchheimer lead the way for the Lions with 10 points. Darius Watson matched it though while the Falcons shot an unreal 57% from the floor in the half.

While the Emerson defense stepped up a bit more to force 13 Falcon turnovers for 11 points, the AMC big men powered in 18 points in the paint en route to running off with the 91-67 win.

The Lions return to their home court on Monday where they'll face rival Emmanuel for a 1 p.m. tip-off in Boston at Emerson's Brown-Plofker Gym.
